Hiya Gwen,
I'm Belinda Hamilton a friend of your son Andrew. We started having a conversation about our family trees. He sent me your Spendlove family tree site. You've done some brilliant work by the way. Anyway, I read that you have a Pink family branch.
I was also reading through my family book, 'Son of Caledon' and I came across a Charles Leslie Pink. Charles was born in Portland VIC. in 1948.
He married Maria Ruby Cook-McDonald on 09.09.1968. They had 4 children. Kylie Jane Pink ( 1969), twins Shelly Lee and Selina Maria Pink ( 1971) and last born was Aaron Charles Pink ( 1972).
I was wondering if they're on the same Pink branch that you write of?
Yours Sincerly
Belinda Hamilton

Sorry Belinda, do not think it is the same family of Pink's
Thanks for the nice words about the site, I am very pleased with the way it is going

Hi there. I am new to genealogy and am trying to trace the ancestors of William Mervyn Hamlyn who I believe sailed on the Donald McKay from Liverpool on 6 June 1855 bound for Melbourne. I understand he was listed on the passenger list as William Hamling. I notice you had family on the same voyage and wondered whether you have located a source/s of the passenger list during your research. Thank you for your attention.

Sorry the Spendlove family came to Australia in 1861, so cannot help you. Have you tried the Public Library in Melbourne as they have copies of a lot of the passenger lists

Do you have any connections to a William Spendlove shown in the 1871 census for Rufford, NTT with his wife Maria (Cartlidge)Spendlove. William is shown as age 55 and born in Kegworth, Leic., occ milkman

Not to my knowledge, but if you could give me any more details, or details of his parents I might be able to help you

Hi - Great site.
My grandfather moved from somewhere in Debyshire, UK to Canada likely in the lat 1800's. He died when I was a small child, about 1957 - do you have anything on a William Spendlove moving to Canada?

(tracy kirkhus, Vancouver, BC, Canada - 13 July, 2005)

Thank you for your kind words, I only know of one a Thomas Spendlove moving to Canada., but I am sure there were many more Spendlove's who made the journey.
Thank you

Hi ya.
I've looked at the family crest. Doing research on the English family history i've got back to 1066 (Norman Invasion). The family crest i have found it is slightly different to your one. On the helmets head is a band signifing the sign of a baron. My grandad told me Spendlove used to be the barons of Peterborough doing research on this i found nothing about this. Have you found anything about Spendlove Barons?

(Nicola Spendlove, England - 13 July, 2005)

Hello Have no information on the Spendlove Barons or the crest you are talking about. If at all possible I would love a copy of the crest.

Hi Gwen,

It was very lovely to find photo's of a much loved old man I met in Geelong many years ago by the name of 'Sos' on your site. Gwen do you have any information about ethel Jessies daughter married to Yusuf Ahmed Dedovic. Which country did Yusuf come from and did they have any children?

(Noura, perth, Australia - 12 April, 2006)

I wish i could help you, but am unable to give out information on living people due to privacy laws, sorry, Gwenda

What a grand site you have spent hours on, congratulations.
Was wondering if you had any Earnshaw and or Judge names that connect around the Echuca area in Victoria.
Regards
Yvonne
